¤ When John joined the Chilis they called him "Greenie" because he was still so young and never played in a band before

¤ When he was young John used to practice guitar for 15 hours a day

¤ John's mother Gail Frusciante and 2 friends of her sing the choir chorus at the end of "Under The Bridge"

¤ 2003 John was ranked 18th of the 100 Best Guitar Players Of All Time by the Rolling Stone Magazine

¤ John is of Italian heritage. His great-grandfather Generoso Frusciante was from Benevento, near Naples in southern Italy!

¤ In the Scar Tissue video clip John is driving the car but he doesn't have a licence and has no intention in getting one either

¤ On the new Mars Volta Record "Amputechture" John recorded practially all of the rhythm guitar parts and played some lead work as well

¤ John went to audition for Frank Zappa's band at the age of seventeen, but left before he actually auditioned.

¤ John is known to play preferably vintage guitars. His guitar collection include Two 1940s Martin acoustics, a Maton Messiah 12-string acoustic (which can be heard on "Breaking the Girl"), a Gretsch White Falcon (1955), a Fender Stratocaster (maple fretboard, 1955), a Fender Stratocaster three colour sunburst (rosewood fretboard, 1962), a Fender Telecaster (rosewood fretboard) (1965) and many more.

¤ River Phoenix, who was a good friend of John and the Chilis, recorded two songs with him. "Height Down" (originally titled "Soul Removal") and "Well I've Been" (originally titled "Bought Her Soul").

¤ In 1997 John released "Smile From The Streets You Hold" and later admitted that the sole purpose was to get money for buying more drugs. He later took it off the market because he felt uncomfortable with it being sold in record stores.

¤ While growing up his guitar became his best friend.

¤ At the age of 16 John left home to find a job and an apartment

¤ "A Fall through the Ground" from "Smile From The Street You Hold " was written and recorded when John was only 17.

¤ The book "Musicians as Artists" features three of John's paintings, one in which was done by him and Flea's daughter, Clara.

¤ When Gotez (a reporter) asked John what he should tell the public about his departure during the Japan tour, he said, "Just tell them I went crazy."

¤ John first saw the Peppers playing at the Variety Arts Center, in LA, at the age of 15, which changed his life forever. "From that point on, their music meant everything to me."
